2021 Thomas House Family Shelter Gala
Last October, the Thomas House Family Shelter celebrated their 35th anniversary with a virtual gala, and we are so pleased to share their message with TWO videos that were played during the evening!
The 2021 Autumn Reflections Virtual Gala honored founders Mary and Bernie Selz who created a lasting legacy by opening their home and their hearts to families experiencing homelessness in Garden Grove. Today, the Thomas House Family Shelter has expanded to 22 apartments and programs to prevent homelessness, find employment opportunities, mentor youth, and so much more.
After passing away in 2010, Bernie is truly missed by the Thomas House team. His legacy, however, lives on. Listen to Mary’s story of their dedication to changing lives, along with testimonials from critical members of their team.
Their efforts truly have changed lives, as we hear from former Thomas House resident Gabriela Villanez in our second video for the gala. Her story is an amazing account of success and the power of human connection. We are so grateful for the opportunity we had to share her message!
Inspired yet? You can continue Mary and Bernie’s mission, too! Visit Thomas House Family Shelter to learn how you can get involved in one of their many programs and give back to the community their team works so hard to uplift.
