Holiday Hot Toddies
Mmmmmmm... a Hot Toddy! (aka “Hot Whiskey” in Scotland, where they originated.)
We know National Hot Toddy Day isn’t officially until January 11th, but since we live in Southern California and well… this is as cold as it may get all year long, we better get to Hot Toddy drinking!
Traditionally, Hot Toddies were touted as a cold remedy! But, let’s be honest... this “preventative health care drink” probably just tasted good. (Really good.) Thus grew a widespread love for this warming cocktail!
So, what is in a Hot Toddy?
RECIPE
2 oz boiling water
1.5 oz whisky
1 tsp honey
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
1 lemon slice (optional)
1 pinch of nutmeg or cloves (optional)
Boil water. Add all ingredients into a glass or mug. Stir. Drink!
Yup. It’s that easy!
If you are feeling festive, have a cold or simply had a rough day, why not try a Hot Toddy?
