Creating a Brand Identity with Social Media
There are so many businesses competing for consumers' attention. Why should they focus on your business over others? We know you have some great stuff to offer, but how will everyone else find out? Here are some tips for getting the most out of your social media presence.
BE CONSISTENT
Creating a brand identity is all about staying consistent. Presenting a clear message is a key piece of branding; so whether it’s on Instagram, Twitter or elsewhere, everything you post should communicate the same message. This consistency shows people who you are and why they should keep coming back to you.
You should also post consistently. In order to keep up engagement, you should post at least a few times a week, if not once or twice a day. Once an account stops posting content regularly, people will stop paying attention. Try to make sure that the quality stays consistent too; spam is just as bad as never posting!
HAVE A UNIQUE VISUAL STYLE
Sometimes, a quick glance to your Instagram is all it takes for your audience to determine their interest. A visually appealing feed can capture someone's attention. An easy way to do this? Make sure all your posts fit into the same color scheme with the same filter or incorporating one key color into your posts.
If you’re feeling a little more ambitious, create posts that feed into each other. If you want to be known for your creativity or design, this is an especially good trick to utilize.
FIND YOUR VOICE
Captions and interactions should have consistent tones. This reflects how you want people to view your brand. Do you want to focus on being trustworthy and informative or funny and irreverent?
Different brands like Wendy's have found success in playfully shaping their Twitter engagement.
